A POSITIVE CHANGE, A SIGNAL FOR THE TERRITORY

The building is located in C.da Borsellino, along the state road SS 118 at Km 140,500, in the Municipality of Joppolo Giancaxio in the province of Agrigento, very close to the capital, from which it is only a few kilometers away.

It involved intervening on a pre-existing building, previously the subject of a renovation and used as the seat of a car dealership with its workshop.

The architecture project is taken as the basis for a positive change, not only of the single building, but as a signal for the territory.

Through the architecture that is represented in an identity building, through the initiative of courageous clients who work in difficult contexts, we wanted to give a signal of positivity and optimism.

The project starts from the existing building to create a new building redeveloped in its main components, structural, plant engineering and in the external envelope.

To obtain the results we had set for ourselves, we first started with the regularization of the perimeter of the building through the construction of a new curtain wall on the main façade and the maintenance of large exhibition areas on the various floors. A linear canopy underlines the ground floor, also delimiting the exhibition area of the outdoor furniture.

A complex project that also involved the redistribution of all internal spaces, with the construction of a new staircase, after demolishing the existing staircase.

This staircase has a steel beam structure and steps in shaped sheet metal. It constitutes a significant element designed to be the fulcrum of the interior spaces which in this way become fluid and interconnected between the various floors.

Making Architecture, through attention to the project and its realization, is a complex goal that needs not indifferent human, as well as economic, resources. We want to thank all those who participated in the realization of this dream, each for their skills, but all with great professionalism.
